This Privacy Policy describes how NotionClips ("we," "the extension") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension and website at notionclips.com.

Information We Collect

NotionClips collects the following categories of data:

Web Page Content: When you choose to clip a page, the extension reads the content of the active tab to extract the article text, title, and metadata. This content is sent directly to Notion's API to create a page in your workspace. We do not store, log, or retain any web page content on our servers.
Authentication Information: When you connect your Notion account, we receive an OAuth 2.0 access token from Notion. This token is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. We do not store your Notion credentials on any external server.
User Preferences: Your extension settings, such as your default database selection and display preferences, are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API.
Email Address: If you voluntarily subscribe to our email list on notionclips.com, we collect your email address for the purpose of sending product updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to the paid tier, payment processing is handled entirely by ExtensionPay and Stripe. We do not receive, see, or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data described above only to provide and improve the core functionality of the extension. Specifically:

To extract web page content and save it to your Notion workspace at your request.
To authenticate your Notion account so the extension can create pages on your behalf.
To remember your preferences between sessions.
To send product update emails if you have opted in.
To process subscription payments through our payment provider.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not transfer your data to third parties except as described in the Third Party Services section below.

AI Content Extraction (Pro Tier)

For Pro tier users, when standard content extraction produces a low quality result, the page content may be sent to the Anthropic Claude API for improved extraction. This content is processed and returned in real time. Anthropic does not retain the content after processing. No page content is stored on our servers or on Anthropic's servers beyond the duration of the API request.

Third Party Services

NotionClips uses the following third party services to provide its functionality:

Notion (notion.so): Saves clipped content to your workspace. Notion Privacy Policy

Data Storage and Security

All data transmitted by NotionClips is sent over HTTPS. Your Notion access token and extension preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and remain on your device. We do not operate a backend server or database that stores user information. No personally identifiable information is stored on any server controlled by NotionClips.

Permissions

The extension requests the following browser permissions:

activeTab: Allows the extension to read the content of the current tab only when you click the extension icon. The extension cannot access any tab you have not actively chosen to clip.
storage: Allows the extension to save your preferences and authentication token locally in your browser.
identity: Allows the extension to handle the Notion OAuth login flow.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or access your browsing history. We do not track which websites you visit. We do not read the content of any tab you have not actively chosen to clip. We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond what is described in this policy. We do not use cookies or tracking pixels in the extension.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@notionclips.com. You may disconnect NotionClips from your Notion account at any time through Notion's settings under "My Connections." You may uninstall the extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data including your access token and preferences. You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email.

Children's Privacy

NotionClips is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@notionclips.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the extension or by email. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
